The Church of "Peace"

• The battle was named after a church named Shiloh
• The reason the Battle of Shiloh took place at the Shiloh church was because some of Grant's troops were camped there while waiting for more troops, however Johnston's forces surprise attacked them and the battle had begun.
• The Church of Shiloh ironically translates to "Place of Peace".
• The "Place of Peace" was said to be completely destroyed after battle, and the logs were used for making a bridge.
• The church was reconstructed in 1949 and a replica of the old one was built in 2001 and now is a national park.
